What to Expect

Every service at Philippian Chapel is a little different, but our purpose remains the same: to worship God, hear from His Word, and provide an opportunity for people to respond to the presence and leading of the Holy Spirit.

Worship

Our services include a time of worship through music and singing. You may hear traditional hymns, Southern Gospel, contemporary worship songs, or a mixture of styles. Our focus is not on a particular style of music, but on worshiping Jesus Christ together.

You are welcome to participate in whatever way you feel comfortable. Some may stand, raise their hands, clap, or worship openly, while others may remain seated or worship quietly. As our guest, you are never expected to worship in a particular way.

Prayer

Prayer is an important part of who we are. During a service, we may pray together for needs within our church, our community, and beyond.

There may also be an opportunity for individuals to come forward for prayer. If you would like someone to pray with you, we would be honored to do so. 

The Message

You can expect preaching and teaching that is centered on the Word of God and points people to Jesus Christ. Our desire is not simply to hear Scripture, but to understand how God's Word speaks into our lives and how we can live out our faith every day.

The Holy Spirit

As a Pentecostal church, we believe the Holy Spirit is still active in the Church today. We believe in allowing room for the Holy Spirit to lead and work during our services according to Scripture.

Because of this, not every service follows exactly the same format or schedule. There may be times of extended worship, prayer, testimony, or other expressions of praise and worship.

The Altar

At the conclusion of the message, there may be an invitation for people to respond in prayer. Some may come forward to pray at the altar, while others may pray from their seats.

The altar is a place where people seek God, pray for one another, celebrate victories, and bring needs before the Lord. If you would like prayer, someone will be glad to pray with you.

You don't need to understand everything about Philippian Chapel—or the Pentecostal Church—before you visit.

Come as our guest. Ask questions. Get to know us.

At Philippian Chapel, you won't feel like a face in the crowd. We value genuine relationships and look forward to getting to know you personally.

Most importantly, our prayer is that when you leave, you will know that you were welcomed, you were loved, and Jesus Christ was at the center of everything.
